SAN MIGUEL DE ALLENDE (Mexico) Spring 2000
The image shown is the lead piece for an exhibit originally shown
in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico in
April of 2000. It included 26 works .The Title of the exhibition
THE ART IS IN THE FRAME (an off the wall exhibit) does not require much
of an explanation, it is simply what it says. What might need further clarification
is the medium used. BASURA: (in Mexican/Spanish) Garbage, junk, rubbish...Anything
discarded by some and collected by others. In other words, "Basura" brought
back to my studio and used "on" or "as" the FRAMES to tell a tale. Some
of the ideas were looking for a frame and some of the frames inspired the
ideas.
